Hello everyone! Seeking information on Marie BATES. She was from around the Hartford, Blackford Co., Indiana area. Born in the late 1800s or early 1900s. She married Orlo Pierson. Together they had 4 children. The 2 girls she gave up for adoption when they were 18 months and 4 yrs old. The girls names before they were adopted were Dorthy (sp?, 18 mos.) (Hazel Colshower sp?, her adopted name) and Thelma L. (4yrs.)( Mary Jane Flatter, her adopted name). They kept the boys. She then married a man with the last name of Stone. I have no info on Marie Bates family or Orlo's family. Family would not talk about them as they were very hurt by the history of the adoptions. Does anyone have any leads for me to follow??!!
