Hello, I am trying to find information on Mary (Polly) BATES, I only have that she was probably born shortly before 1785, that her father was a William BATES, that she married William SHELTON, 1800, Greenville County, SC.....she died ca 1808-09 in Greenville. Her children with William were Nancy Shelton b. 1801 married Thomas Jones; Ellis Shelton b. 1803 married Amelia Bolling; William Shelton Jr., b. 1805 married Rachel Bolling; and my GGGGrandfather Joel Thomas Shelton b. 1807 married Mary (Polly) Chastain, and Lydia Parker....
