    2. I need any information on the parents of David Ward BATES, born abt. 1775 in MA. He married Julia Tuttle MEADE, born abt. 1780 in NY, and they were in Gallia Co., OH, by 1821 when one of their children, Lyman Park BATES was born. They had at least one daughter, and probably a son named David G. By 1840 they were in Marshall Co., IL, where both had died by 1860. Lyman married Zilpha HAMMETT in Peoria Co., IL, and was in Davis Co., IA by 1870. Karen Alexander

    2. STROUD, MARGARET
    3. Hi to the list, I am new to Wilcut/Wilcutt list and seeking information on the following Wilcutts who are sisters. Sallie C. Wilcutt born 1885 and married to Elisha (Elias) Bates who was born 1882, probably Alabama. Annie Wilcutt, birthdate unknown, who was married to Durenia Jack Bates who was born 1883, prob Alabama. These Wilcutt sisters were daughters-in-law of Wm Fleming Bates born 1853 who married Mary J. M. Tucker (Dora) who was born 1855. We know nothing about Dora Tucker or her lineage but would like to know of her. These Wilcutt sisters were grand-daughters-in-law of Thomas "Royal" Bates born 1818 who married Sarah Ann Martin born 1824. We know nothing more of Thomas and Sarah but would like to have any info about them. Thanks for any help from "Wilcutt cousins" to fill in family tree branches of James Pittman in Cullman Co, Alabama who is ill but would like to pass the heritage on to his descendants. James recently lost his mother, Audrey Bates Pittman, of Birmingham. Pls say hello to James at kathypittman@mindspring.com and she'll print it for him. 1. [BATES-L] BATES - Leicestershire - England
    2. Lance
    3. Been on this List for some time now and have noted all that wonderful research into the BATES lines in the US. However, I have not seen any entries that tend to go back to England. You probably all have connections back to there, so here's a query: Anyone found connections back to Leicestershire, particularly in the area of Horninghold, Stonton Wyville, Medbourne or even Slawston? Not particularly worried about a time frame, from the present to the past is okay. Lance in Australia
