Longmont Ledger (Longmont, Boulder County) Jan 19, 1900 BASKIN--At the residence of James Andrew, two miles east of Longmont, on the night of Friday, January 12, 1900, Harry Thompson Baskin of Dublin, Ireland, aged 21 years. This young man came to Longmont a little over a year ago, in the hope of escaping that dread disease consumption, having previously passed two years in New Zealand in the search for health. Here he seemed to improved until a couple of weeks ago, when he was stricken down with tuberculosis of the brain. On account of ill health, he had made a few acquaintances in Longmont, but those who had opportunity to know him well, discovered a mind matured beyond its years by travel and much reading, and a character rarely sweet and lovable, a good heart united with good breeding to form, in the truest sense of the term, a gentleman. The funeral services were held at St. Stephen's church at eleven o'clock Monday morning, the Rev. Mr. Heal officiating. A widowed mother, two sisters and a brother mourn the loss in Dublin, a cousin at Newark, N. J., being the only near relative in this country.
