Look for his military record (draft or enlistment record) here on Ancestry, and search the SSDI also. If you find him in the SSDI, invest the small amount to order the record - these are a wealth of information. Keep in mind that info on the military will have been provided by your grandfather himself, while info on the SSDI may have been provided by someone else. Good luck!
