Are you aware of a Scots-Irish/Ulster Scots naming tradition at all? They all seem to have the same names over here generation after generation...until recently, that is. Maybe if you would try and contactor her via the RTE Office in Dublin thy may be able to help you. Rte info on the web. Robert Lee Baskins, son of Robert Lee and Lydia Catoe Basikin(s) was born Sep 1889. He actually died February 14, 1905 of measles. Buried in the Fork Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. I've got his obit. I've got a website that I usually put all this on. His obit isn't on there yet, but I'll try to get it up there soon. Also the Fork Hill record isn't updated for him either (see http://www.reeveshome.org/genealogy/lancaster/). As to being in WWI, there was another Robert Baskins, a Corp. who died of disease during the war. Different person. Author: alicia_d_watt Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.baskin/62.123/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm also descended from William Baskin Sr. and actually paid to have the PRONI records searched to find any evidence of the family in Northern Ireland. Records that old are apparently very fragmentary if they exist at all, but my researcher's best guess (based on the repetition of names, etc.) was that the family came from the Killybegs area in Co. Donegal. I did mention the Pickens connection thinking that it would help, but the Pickens name is very rare in Ireland as well. No real help, just guesses... Good Luck, All! I too am a Baskin descendant, and would like to have this line filled in! I didn't have anything other than John Craig Baskin (1774) marrying his cousin Elizabeth Baskin (1772). Thanks!
