Hi, I am looking for info. on my GGGrandmother whose initials are M.C. She married Enoch Joshua Barton in Randolph County, Alabama. Enoch was a justice of the Peace in Randolph County, Alabama and was also known as "Babe" Barton. On the 1880 census they have her listed as Catherine. On her daughter's medical records (the daughters name is Katie Bell - there is also a Prudence listed I don't know if she and Katie are the same person but there birth year is the same) her mother is listed as Cassandra. On my GGGrandmothers headstone she is listed as M.C., her birth years is listed as 1855. On her death record she is listed as Mrs. Barton. M.C. (Catherine or Cassandra) died of TB in 1894 when her youngest child was about 3 months old. M.C. (Catherine or Cassandra) is buried in the Haywood Community Cemetery in Randolph County, Alabama. So as you can see I am having a very tough time locating info on her. Then the Watwood's disappear. My GGrandfather was married twice. First to Ella Barton and she died and he married Ella's first cousin Clara. Their fathers were brothers. There are 2 sets of children. They say they had a grandma Savage and a grandma Watwood. Well I know the grandma Savage comes off of Ella's line. So the grandma Watwood has to come off of Clara's line (which is my line). We found an old portrait of Grandma Watwood at my GGrandfather old homestead. But I am looking for proof that she is a Watwood and what her actual name was. All of my grandfather's brothers and sister say she was a Watwood. I have 2 great-uncles living one is 95 and the other is one is 80. And there minds (especially my 95 year old great-uncle) are great. I also have a great-aunt who is 83. And they all tell me the same thing. Any info you have or any help you could give me would be wonderful and greatly appreciated. Thanks, Belinda savadge@alltel.net http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Bluffs/1079/
