Hi. I'm new to the list and was hoping someone might be able to help me trace my Barton line. I'm looking for the ancestry of this line: Jeremiah BARTON & Marie Anna GRANT of Charlotte. Jeremiah & Marie Anna had two children that I know of: John Waterman, b. abt 805 and Hannah, b. abt 1802 Charlotte. My line continues with: John Waterman BARTON m. 6 Feb 1834 Charlotte Emeroy WILLIAMS (d/o William R. WILLIAMS & Jerusha ADAMS of Charlotte) John Waterman & Emeroy had the following children: Guy William, b. 1834 VT Caroline, b. 1838 Michigan Elizabeth, b. 1839 Michigan John Waterman, b. 1841 Berrien Co., Mich. Royal Mark, b. 1844 Mich. Chester Van Rensler, b. 1855 Solano, CA As you can see, the family eventually pulled up stakes and moved to California during the goldrush days, abt 1855.
