In researching my Barton family I have tied so far unsuccessfullly to locate information about my 6 g grandfrather Joseph Barton. According to family Bible records he was a Revolutionary Soldier. I don't know wheter loyalist or patriot. He had at least 2 sons-David and Thomas born in South Carolina. (David b. 1777 and Thomas b. 1786) Some references link Joseph to the Thomas Barton/Sarah Wilson and family sources document a relationship but I have not been able to make the connection. I have tried researching the coastal Carolina Bartons and have found several Josephs but still not able to connect to my family. I would appreciate any help or suggestions and will gladly share the information I have.
