I have been searching for documented details on my Barton line for many years, and have had some success on the recent generations. However, I loose the line when I get back to South Carolina. Others searching this same line put forth the theory that my line was from the backcountry Bartons of South Carolina where few, if any records were kept. At any rate, I have run into a brick wall about 1750 in researching this line. My Barton line summary follows working backwards from my father: Jerry Benard Barton (b. Comanche Co TX in 1901, d. in California in 1984) Green Thomas Barton (b. Trinity Co TX in 1862, d. in Eastland Co TX in 1949) Jeremiah J. Barton (b. Jefferson Co AL in 1820, d. Navarro Co TX in Abt 1880) Isaac Barton (b. SC in 1799, d. Trinity Co TX in 1865) John Barton (b. Laurens Co SC abt 1765, d. Jefferson Co AL abt 1832) Isaac Barton (b. Newberry Co SC abt 1745, d. Jefferson Co AL abt 1825) Data on the last two generations is very soft. Would appreciate hearing from other Barton researchers that could help me find my lost generations. I am always willing to exchange what I have accumulated for what you have that might assist me. Jerry Tyson Barton Georgetown, Texas
