Walter Hogan Barton was born in Lostant, Il. Married in Chicago, IL., Operated a hotel in Tonica,Il., later employed by the Chicago Daily News and Chicago Tribune. Published a newspaper in Lostant Moved to a homestead in south Lincoln County Nebraska in 1898 after the twins death. Moved to Maywood, Nebraska in 1901 where he started the Maywood Reporter.
