OK, let me try my Barton. I surely hope someone out there can help me. It came down through the family that he was born in Albany, NY. He possibly has a brother, Samuel, 2-3 yrs. older than he that also came to TX. One questionable source that I have found has his name listed as John E. B. Barton. All other documents have his name as Elder B. or E. B. Barton. Seeking info and contact with descendents of ELDER B. BARTON b. 8 Jan 1823 (or 1820) NY and d. 4 Aug 1884 Nueces Co., TX. Elder B. m.
