A family Bible was discovered that stated Dorcus Barton was born July 1799 in Pendleton District, South Carolina. She married Robert Gale. Their first child Emiline was born 1817 in Morgan County, Georgia. She and Robert later moved to Covington County, MS, Washington Parish, LA, and finally Hinds County, MS. I am looking for her parents. I suspect she was the granddaughter of David Barton and Ruth Oldham. She maybe the daughter of David and Ruth's son named Presley Barton. Presley died in 1822 in Morgan Co. GA., leaving a will, which I have been unable to obtain a copy of. The conclusions concerning Dorcus' parentage maybe wrong. Can anyone help me prove or disprove the lineage? Thanks. Katie
