Hi Jerry, My BARTON's were from Edgefield, SC to AL. I am at a stand still on Enoch J. BARTON born 1819 in Edgefield, SC. According to family stories his mother died and his father remarried. He didn't get along with his step-mother so he ran away at age 14 or 15. I don't know if he went by himself or if he went with someone. He was in Chambers County, AL in 1840. In 1860, he was in Randolph County, AL and stayed there until his death in 1896. Do you have an Enoch J. Barton in your line anywhere? Thank You, Belinda savadge@alltel.net -----Original Message----- From: JBarton851@aol.com <JBarton851@aol.com> To: BARTON-L@rootsweb.com <BARTON-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Wednesday, June 02, 1999 8:28 PM Subject: Re: [BARTON-L] PETER BARTON//NY >I can document my Barton line from South Carolina to Georgia, then Alabama, >then Yalabusha County, Mississippi.
