Gilbert Barton was born in Pennsylvania 13 Sept. 1801 to Enoch Barton and Margaret Tower Barton. I'm guessing it was somewhere around Brush Creek Township. Enoch was born in NJ 1744 and died in Ohio 1833. Margaret was born in Scotland and died in Pennsylvania 1826. It's Maurice (Gilbert Morris) that I can find no information on other than the census report where it states he was born in Ohio and a page in a book "100 Years For The "Greatest Little Town" In The USA" where he married Olive Ann Beede (which some say it should be Votaw instead of Beede but the Bible has her Listed as Beede) and they had Walter Hogan Barton (born in IL.. No mention of any other children. I've been searching for information on Maurice for a year now so it's still a young search!
