The book begins with Edward Barton who immigrated and settled in Essex Co. Mass in about 1632 and the lates born person I can find is John Titus Barton b11/23/1914. Edward was in Salem, Mass by 1640 and later in Exeter NH. Samuel Barton,b1664, d09/12/1732 was Edward's grandson who married Hannah Bridges hwo was the neice of Rebecca Nurse who was hanged as a witch in Salem. They left Salem the year after Rebecca Nurse was hanged and went to Watertown, the Framinghan and then Oxford, Mass. Samuel was the Great Grandfather of Clara Barton who founded the American Red Cross. There is a Captain David Barton who served with Mass units in the Revolutionary War. The remainder of the book follows David Barton's descendants one of whom married Lydia Fuller who is descended from the Mayflower Fullers. The final part of the book has information about Fuller. Couldn't find anything about Bartons in RI. Hope this helped, Kristen Swank Dorothy Muirhead wrote: > Is there anything on the Mass or R.I. Bartons?
