He is cited in "History of the Hancock and Barton Families: From Virginia to California", pub. Hancock Family Organization, Oct. 1991 Another researcher is/was (1984)Mrs. /w. C. Thetford, 3725 Mocking Bird, Dallas TX 75205. His father, Joshua BARTON, was a Rev. War Soldier; killed by Shawnee Indians; see Ramsey's "Annuals of Tennessee", pp. 134-138. Joshua is cited in DAR Patriot Index, 1966, p. 41 Your Rev. Isaac BARTON is also cited in "Dictionary of American Biaography", Vol. XXI Supplement One, 1944 and in the Missouri Historical Bulletin, Octogber 1950, p. 53, which includes data on the 12 children of Isaac including the brothers and sisters of Senator David BARTON.
