    3. Re: BOMAR of CAMPBELL CO., GA IS THIS A NEW LIST? I'm shocked to not have more complete data here on my office PC --- my primary research notes are on my Mac at home! Although I used to know much of the line by memory (oh, the good ol' days), I'm just standing here intellectually naked as that proverbial jaybird. Oh, well. While I shall add to this latter if necessary, here, nevertheless, is my submission: MY DESCENT FROM THE IMMIGRANT, EDWARD BOMAR . . . . . . . . . . . EDWARD BOMAR c1700 - 1766 EDWARD BOMAR , planter, was bca 1700, X (perhaps Ottery-St. Mary, Devonshire, England), and died testate ante 18 Aug. 1766, Southfarnham Parish, Essex Co., VA. He mca X, X, ISABELLA X (Fielding?), daughter of X, who was bca X, X (prob. England), and died post 18 Aug. 1766, Essex Co., VA. They had six known children. On 19 Mar. 1732, Thomas Crow et ux Ann sold to Edward Bomar a tract of land containing 165 acres [Essex Co. Deed Book 17, page 167]. Upon Edward's demise in 1766, this tract devised to his son, William, who held it for fifteen years until after his removal to Halifax County. On 9 Dec. 1782, William Bomar et ux Elizabeth of Halifax Co., VA, sold to Thomas Bush of Essex Co., VA, for f150, 128 acres "formerly belonging to my father, Edward Bomar," witnessed by John Vass, John Brooke, and Robt. Mann, and recorded 20 Jan. 1783. [Essex Co. Deed Book 32, page 124] Children of Edward and Isabella (X) Bomar: + William Bomar, bca 1725. + Alexander Bomar, b. X. + Peter Bomar, b. Capt. John Henry Martin Barton, CSA, had settled in 1869). David and Catherine had several children, having followed her parents to Campbell Co., GA, where the elder Bomar settled about 1831 and, in that year, was Justice of the Campbell County Inferior Court. =============================== SEEKING CONTACT WITH ALL BOMAR COUSINS, especially those of my branch! My heartfelt congratulations to the poor soul who undertook ownership of the list. (A task I had manytimes considered over the past two years but knew there would never be sufficient time to manage it properly.) How wonderful --- let's all make this vehicle worthwhile! I have considerable information (although putting my hands on it all at the moment will be impossible). In fact, twelve years ago there were fifty-seven (57) of us earnestly working BOMAR branches. Many of you will hopefully remember fondly our attempts to more-accurately assemble genealogical proofs evidencing our descent from the immigrant. Looking forward to GREAT THINGS on our list --- Regards, /Tom in TX -- o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o--o-o-o-o THOMAS BARTON NASH (1955- ) | ICQ # 24732064 P. O.
