    3. Shirley and Bill, Re your postings on Bartons in Jackson Co., Ohio. I'm interested in this group because my g-grandfather, William A. Barton, apparently stopped there long enough to get married. He was originally from Beaver Co., Pa and his family remained there after he left. He married Mary Ellen Thompson in Jackson Co., but I don't know if she was from there or somewhere else. I have a copy of his marriage certificate from Sep1858, but haven't found him on an 1860 census record. He could have been in the army. He migrated northeast and had children in Indiana, but I can't find them anywhere. The next time I find him is in Clark Co., Illinois on the 1880 census. After that he moved across the river to Terre Haute in 1911. Does any of this ring any bells for either of you???
