I have an article--very long one--that was published in the Garden City Telegram, Garden City, Kansas. It is the story of pioneer Wellborn "Doc" Barton, born Dec. 22, 1852 near Austin Texas--a family that had migrated a decade earlier from South Carolina. His brothers: Al and Henry. His Uncles: Poinsett and David (served in the confederate army) Wellborn Barton was the first Gray County sheriff... He died in 1947. I just wrote to the Telegram asking their permission to type the data for submission to this list, but have not received a reply as of yet. My nephew who knows I research Barton surname sent it to me....but alas though it is a wonderful story, but not my Barton. Lena
