Veeeeeerrry Interesting (that note which mentioned the Bartons from VA and one who married a Sims who was granted land there.) I am married to a Barton from KS and my great grandparents were Sims. We live in the Sims home in Walker Co., GA. I can go back only to Chattooga Co. , GA in 1839 on the Sims side and back to S.C. on the Barton side. The Bartons are believed to have come from VA and I suspect that my Sims did as well since they came from N. GA and, I believe, NC.
