Ron, It would appear that we are tracing the same line. You have one generation more than I have though and you have more children for William and Ruth. Information given to me placed Ruth's birth in Orange Co., NC. I do not know what the source was for this information. We descend from Alexander's brother Samuel whose birthyear was 1788 as well, which would make them twins. (I didn't have an exact year for Alexander so I am just trying to get this figured out.) Another difference I found is the name of Alexander's wife: you listed it as Sowell but I have it as Lowell. Glad to know of another researcher on the same line. I did not get sources from the person who sent me the Barton information that I have did not list sources. Let's continue to compare notes.
