Hi Mark, I saw your posting and had to respond. George and Leah were my GGG Grandparents. George was born about 1826 and died of wounds received in the civil was in May of 1864. Apparently he was a prisoner in a union hospital at the time. I got the above information from a land grant application that Leah made in 1898. She married a Levi Spikes after George"s death. She is buried in Brown Cemetery in Winnfield La.
