I have been trying to find out where my Barton family comes from and have not been able to find a thing. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it! :-) Dock Marshall Barton was born in Indiana in 1844 or 1855 depending on which source is accurate. Dock married Emmaline Christopher and had the following children: Herbert, Wilbur, Oran, Walter I., Della, Blanche and Dorothy plus 2 more who had died prior to the 1900 census. At least one child, Oran was born in Summitville, Madison Co., Indiana abt 1892. By 1920 at least Wilber, Herbert, Oran and Walter were in the Vigo Co., Indiana area. I am assuming the rest of the family is here too but haven't been able to find them. Dock is burried in Vigo Co., IN, dying in 1939. As are Blanche and Emmaline and the boys. According to the Census, Dock's parents were both born in Indiana but I have no idea if it was in the Summitville area or somewhere else. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any ideas?
