William enlisted in the 74th Regiment Company F in No. Dansville NY 22 July 1861. I have Wm in the 1880 census in MN and all forward censuses. Cannot find him or family in anything before 1880. Brother John J. Barton b. NY/Canada? 1836. Married Hannah Smith of Ohio.Children Willie E. and Lucy. Listed in 1870 census MN, 1880 MN., warranty deed states they gave up their land for the railroad. Moved to WA 1886. Died 1898. Parents listed as John and Eliza both b. NY Brother(?) Ephriam Barton b. 15 April 1844, NY. Have in 1870 census in MN, 1880 in MN, 1900 ND. Moved to WA with wife Emma E. and daughter Alta. Died in Calif. 1909. Death certificate says his father is Charles...born in England, mother Eliza Merits b. in NY. Possible sister Eliza and another brother Charles. WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION ANYONE HAS ON THIS FAMILY.
