Clara Barton is from the Oxford Bartons. I have a Booklet on this family as it turns out I finally found my Barton line. Clarissa Harlowe b. 1821 d. `1912 was the daughter of Capt Stephen Barton back to Dr. Stephen, Edmund, Samuel Matthew and Edward.`` Edward of Salem Marblehead, Portsmouth NH and Cape Porpoise ME was at Salem about 1640 possibly earlier and died at Cape Porpoise not later than Apr 1671 Matthew Barton his son of Salem, Portsmouth and Cape Porpoise. But it was Samuel Barton his son that was the founder of the Bartons of Oxford.
