All KY KY KY 1880 Soundex, Knox County ED53, Sheet 33, has the named spelled with the letter E. Barten, Silas, age-40, same family. 1900 Soundex for Barton: They are listed on ED 69, sheet 6, Knox County. In this census, Silas is living with his son John. Looks like Jane may have died. " 38, Sept, 1861 Goley, Sidney S,(ss) 9 , Jul, 1890 Barton, Silas (F) 55, May, 1845 In the 1894 Knox County school census i found: Silas Barton: children Liza 14 and S.L. 11 (female) The S L in this census is probably our Sarah Barton, born abt 1882. (Looks like Sylus brother John also had daughter named Sarah) John Barton: children Bird 19 (male), Catherine 17, Sarah 14, Martha 8 Knox County, page-369 Barton, Catherine, age 55, Nancy-age-16, Silas, age-12 ( This Catherine could be a sister to Silus) Whitley County, page-420 Barton, Nelson, age-26, Nancy, age-25, John, age-6, Cyrus B., age-4, Anderson, age-1. I think that Silus family is the Nelson Barton family . Note the name of his youngest brother also is the same name of his oldest son. I also think that the census taker misspelled Silas and wrote down-Cyrus. Nelson Barton, born Abt. 1824 in ?; died October 14, 1851 in Whitley Co KY. He married 125. Nancy Bishop January 08, 1845 in Whitley Co KY. 125. Nancy Bishop, born Abt. 1823. Notes for Nelson Barton: 1850 Whitley Co Census: Nelson Barton age 26 Farmer (died 10-14-1851) Nancy (Bishop m 1-8-1845 Whitley Co) John age 6 Cyrus B. age 4 ( I think this is Sylus, "Sy" Barton, census taker mispelled the name.) Anderson age 1 Nelson does not appear in the 1840 Whitley county census. Nancy does not appear in the 1840 Knox County census. Children of Nelson Barton and Nancy Bishop are: i. John Barton, born Abt. 1844; married ? 62 ii. Silas "Sy" Barton, born Abt. 1846 in Whitley Co KY; died Aft. 1900 in Knox CO KY; married Eliza Jane Wells August 04, 1862 in Knox Co Ky. iii.
