Hi, is it Clara? Your signature is somewhat confusing! The only Stephen BARTON that I have that fits your birth date requirement is:- Name: Stephen BARTON - -------------------------------------- Birth: before 30 March 1834 Hadlow, Kent Baptism: 30 March 1834 Hadlow, Kent Death: after 2 April 1871 Occupation: Agricultural Labourer Father: Stephen BARTON (<1809-<1883) Mother: Rebecca BRANN (<1811-1896) Spouse: none found 1841 living Smeeth, Kent, age 7y, b. Kent 1851 living Smeeth, age 17y, b. Hadlow. 1861 living Smeeth with family , age 27y, b Hadlow. 1871 living Smeeth with family , age 37y, b Smeeth [Error?] 1881 not found in UK. So, by the time of the 1881 Census (3 Apr 1881) Stephen had either died or possibly emigrated. Do you know the earliest date that your Stephen could have been in Canada? If he is your man then I have his line back to John BARTON, his 7g. grandfather, b. about 1500. I should be interested to hear what you think. Regards, Michael Sprackling, Birkenhead, Merseyside, England. ----- Original Message ----- From: <CMere85162@aol.com> To: <BARTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 09, 2000 3:54 PM Subject: Re: [BARTON-L] Stephen Barton > Hi Michael The first Barton in my line that I've found mention of is > Stephen Barton b. abt 1835 living in New Brunswick Canada he had a son > Stephen R.
