Michael, Thanks for your quick reply. I have a Barton cousin who has a friend who lives in London. He tells me that the little village called Barton-in-the-Beans in Surry Co. no longer exists, but it was there in 1652 when our John Barton left to come to Virginia. He also said that there are Bartons still living in that area. I don't know if this makes any difference, but thought you might be interested in it. Shirley
