Rev Thomas Barton,in his 1780 will, mentions lands in Ky surveyed for him in 1763 by [by 1780 Brig Gen] Wm Thompson. A bio of the latter places him at Carlisle and FT PITT early. Gen Wm Thompson fought in the British forces in the French and Indian war,as did Thomas Barton. Gen WM Thompson seems an Indian trader at Ft Pitt,at times. Did he minister at York Springs? Does anyone know of a biography mentioning his pre 1776 years in detail?
