    1. New York Barton's
    2. Hi all, I am still looking for David Hill Barton. He died Aug 23, 1875, age 59 in Peekskill, NY where he is buried...I think he lived there for many years...but I do not know where he was born or who his parent's were. He had 5 children: William Mabie Barton, Viola Barton (m Merwin Morehouse), James Goetschius Barton (moved to Detroit and had sons), Mary Gertrude Barton (m William Yard then Severino Morelli), Eliza Barton (m Albert Peter Hallock), and Belle Barton (m Fred Bonfils). Any help or thoughts would be MUCH appreciated. Linda

    3. Well Linda, I may have found something for you... In the 1860 census, there is this listing: D H Barton Age in 1860: 41 Birth Year: abt 1819 Birthplace: New York Home in 1860: Cortlandt, Westchester, New York Gender: Male Post Office: Sing Sing Occupation: Grocer Household Members: Name Age D H Barton 41 Mary Barton 30 Jno Barton 9 William Barton 6 Eliza Barton 2 Wm H Lent 25 Following that forward, in 1870 there is this listing: Barton, David age 52, lumber dealer, born in NY Barton, Mary age 39, keeping house, born in NY Barton, James age 18, clerk in bank, born in NY Barton, William age 15, born in NY Barton, Elisa age 12, born in NY Barton, Belle age 9, born in NY Barton, Viola age 6, born in NY Now, when I go BACK, there is only 1 David Barton in the 1850 census that matches both age and state, and that David is listed as a son in the house of a Jacob and Mary Barton in Putnam Co., NY... So, anyway, hopefully that's something you didn't have and will help :) -Christi LindaBear3@aol.com wrote: > Hi all, > I am still looking for David Hill Barton.
