Hello Barton researchers, I am trying to get a better handle on the info I have on my Barton line. And, of course, I am still trying to make connections in areas that I am lacking information in. I've updated my website (still needs some work) - but it now goes back two generations further then it did. If any of you find a connection on my site to your line - please e-mail. www.imagesverite.com/genealogy Thanks, Cec Barton-Murrah
Cec, take a look at this page: http://www.bartondatabase.info/getperson.php?personID=I13076&tree=gbtree We think Roswell was the son of James, b 1746. yDNA for James and Roswell Barton is the same as the Thomas Barton family of Stafford Co VA. Our F-2 DNA project participant claims Roswell as ancestor. B-38 and F-40 claim James through two different grandsons of James - through James' son, John. These three men are a perfect match to the Thomas Barton of Stafford Co dna profile. In fact, Thomas(2) Barton of the Stafford Co family had an 11 year old James Barton in his household in 1724, as recorded in tax document called a "Tobacco Tender". I believe that James, b 1746 is either directly descended from James, b c1713 - or is named in his honor by a brother or nephew of James, b c1713. The yDNA and the pieces of paper trail support the theory that James b 1746 descends from Thomas(2) Barton of Stafford Co VA Unfortunately, insufficient records have survived for us to know how to assemble this family with certainty. Here's what I have been willing to post: http://www.thomasbarton.org/ Best regards, Terry Barton -----Original Message----- From: barton-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:barton-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of cec@imagesverite.com Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2007 4:26 PM To: barton@rootsweb.com Subject: [BARTON] Updated Website Hello Barton researchers, I am trying to get a better handle on the info I have on my Barton line.
