I am looking for information on Robert Bruce Barton, born July 24, 1839, possibly in Linn Co KS. He served in the 6th Regiment of the Kansas Calvary during the Civil War. He was married to Charity Hinds in Linn Co KS and was the father of four sons. He died in 1918. I have hit a dead-end trying to establish who his parents, siblings or any of his ancestors were. Any bit of information about this family that would help me find his line would be appreciated. Thanks. Barbara

No they only had one son George. I still have to prove John 1821 to his two sisters to really be positive this is my family. I have been working with all of the John Bartons from East Greenwich to Providence for years can I be of any help to you along that line. I have all of the RI Bartons from Rufus and his two sons Andrew & Benjamin. I was so sure that I would be related to this line. Dorothy I have found alot of this family in Chicago. ---------- > In a message dated 6/19/99 1:05:29 PM Central Daylight Time, > muirhead@inetnebr.com writes: > > << John Barton b. 1821 Providence m. There was a family of Bartons living in the area of Lisburn PA, (on the border of York Co. and Cumberland Co.) in the during the 1800s. Anyone have any information on members of this family? I suspect that Joseph is a descendant of the Rev. Benjamin Barton from Philadelphia but have not been able to prove it yet. The family lineage follows: (1) 1 Joseph Barton & Phebe (Feby) | (2) 1.1 Mary (Polly) Barton ( - >1859) | (2) 1.2 Valentine Barton ( - 1821) | occ. Inn Keeper | & Letty | (2) 1.3 Joseph Barton (~1785 - 1853) | (2) 1.4 James Barton (~1793 - 1854) | occ. store clerk, cooper | (2) 1.5 Isaac Barton (1798 - 1868) | (2) 1.6 John Barton (1802 - 1850) [I have not proven this specific John married to Catherine belongs in this family but there was a John in this family] | occ. Farmer | & Catherine Umberger (~1806 - ) | bd. abt 1806, Warrington Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania | | (3) 1.6.1 Joseph Barton (1832 - 1871) | | occ. Policeman | | & Adaline E. Reiff (1836 - 1918) | | bd. 10 Oct 1836, Pennsylvania | | dd. 28 Jul 1918, Americus, Missouri | | m. 16 Dec 1858, Richland Co., Ohio | | (3) 1.6.2 David D. Barton (1834 - 1894) | | occ. Farmer | | & Susan (~1837 - ) | | bd. abt 1837, Pennsylvania | | (3) 1.6.3 Caroline Barton (~1836 - ) | | & George Floyd | | (3) 1.6.4 William Barton (1841 - ) | | (3) 1.6.5 John Barton (~1844 - ) | | (3) 1.6.6 Mary Ellen Barton (~1846 - ) Thanks for any help!
