    3. I hve the NY Bartons IGI sheet in front of me. I found William boirn 1 Jun 1801 submitted by a relative Otis L. Terry and by his spouse Jane 1802. That is all that is mentioned no parents listed. I found Harriet's birth listed to William & Jane 1841 in Sullivan, Liberty and her marriage to Napoleon Bradley 1864 in Sullivan. I will go thru the list further and get back to you. Dorothy MUIRHEAD@inetnebr.com ---------- > From: V. 1. [BARTON-L] Jeremiah BARTON of Charlotte, Chittenden, VT
    2. Hi. I'm new to the list and was hoping someone might be able to help me trace my Barton line. I'm looking for the ancestry of this line: Jeremiah BARTON & Marie Anna GRANT of Charlotte. Jeremiah & Marie Anna had two children that I know of: John Waterman, b. abt 805 and Hannah, b. abt 1802 Charlotte. My line continues with: John Waterman BARTON m. 6 Feb 1834 Charlotte Emeroy WILLIAMS (d/o William R. WILLIAMS & Jerusha ADAMS of Charlotte) John Waterman & Emeroy had the following children: Guy William, b. 1834 VT Caroline, b. 1838 Michigan Elizabeth, b. 1839 Michigan John Waterman, b. 1841 Berrien Co., Mich. Royal Mark, b. 1844 Mich. Chester Van Rensler, b. 1855 Solano, CA As you can see, the family eventually pulled up stakes and moved to California during the goldrush days, abt 1855. I'm looking for the parents of Jeremiah BARTON and any other information available. Thanks for reading this, and for your help. Annie Carlile

    2. To Jan and Bill Barton; I am searching for John Barton from "Barton on the Beans," Surry County, South West of London. He arrived in New Port News in 1632. I have searched ships list for him and haven't found him. He died around 1669 in Surry County, Va. Have any of you run across this particular John Barton? Lucie Barton Adger in Texas

    2. William W Barton
    3. Hi Jan: I see that you are interested in Bartons in Co. Fermanagh. In my ongoing search for my Ulster-Scot Barton ancestry I have collected some data on Co. Fermanagh Bartons, e.g.: - Milton Rubincam, "Barton Pedigree in the College of Arms, London" (NGS Quart., Mar. 1942), 30:1-6 - "Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland" (1958), 59-61 - Rev. Canon Sherlock, "The Family of Barton" (Kildare Archeology Soc. Journ., 1903-5), 4:111-113 - E. MacLysaght, "More Irish Names" (1960), 29-30 - John O'Hart, "Irish Pedigrees: The Origin & Stem of the Irish Nation" (1892), 2:510-1. Unfortunately, none of the above appears to relate to my JOHN BARTON born ca. 1756 in Co. Down, married MARY KYLE 4 Dec. 1784 in Belfast, died 22 Feb. 1838, buried in Cross Roads Presbyterian Cemetery near Florence, Washington Co., PA. They emigrated in 1794 bringing with them their letters from the old Seceder church in Ireland. Names of their children in order of birth were James, Hugh, George, Jane, Archibald, John, Jr., Robert and Mary. Does any of this ring any bells? 3. Hello list Introducing myself as I am new to the list. I have extensive information on connected Barton families in Ireland - mostly in Fermanagh but also Tipperary and Wicklow. My family tree includes information form Burke's Irish Family Records (1976 Edition). I also have some family documents including some wills which give interesting information about other family members and dates! There are numerous family connections with other notable families in Ireland. I am looking for information on US, Canada and Australian Barton families with known connections to Fermanagh in particular. I am happy to supply any information I can on Irish Barton roots. 3. Hi Sparks, I might have your Bartons here in my records. However, I just got back from a trip which was shortly after a previous trip and I'm hopelessly behind on everything. From memory, I do have a James Barton with a son Walter who ended up in Iowa. I'll have to check your 1905 time frame and see if there is a Marion. Give me a day or two to recover and take a look. I'll tell you one way or the other, so you won't be left wondering. If my records connect, I'll provide you his tree for several generations back. 2. Looking for any info on George M Barton. I know he died September 6, 1843 (at the age of 49) but I don't have his date of birth. He was born in Dumfries, Scotland, and in 1817 he moved (don't know why) to Nova Scotia. He was a 22 year member of the Masonic Fraternity, belonging to the Royal Sussex Lodge, No. 704, on the Registry of England. On September 10, 1843, he was given a Masonic Funeral in the city of Halifax, N.S., so I am under the assumption that he was laid to rest in the town he lived in or near. From information I acquired from THE PRESBYTERIAN WITNESS (Halifax newspaper) it seems that he had a wife: Charlotte Barton (maiden name: Mason) died 1854 (July?) at age 51, a daughter Elizabeth Mary Cleverly (wife of Capt. Henry Cleverly ) died 1856 (Sept?) at age 36, and another daughter Sarah Jane Barton died 1856 (Sept?) at age 29. Does anybody out there recognize this family, or any other members that I can add to it? I am trying to create a link between George, and my great great grandfather Joseph H. Barton. Joseph and his wife Adelade (Young) had one daughter Ida Wadswoth Marsh in 1885. Does anyone recognize these names??? I am so new to this geneology thing...and I could use all the help I could get.
