    1. [BARTON-L] Roll Call-Barton Ireland<MD<VA<NC<TN<TX<MO
    2. I am descended from Isaac Barton of Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland. Isaac Barton m. Sarah Vesey Joshua Barton m. Jane Dubart Rev. Isaac Barton m. Keziah Murphy William Barton m. Hannah Oliphant Elizabeth Barton m. John Lewis King Sarah Ann King m. Samuel Hardesty Campbell Henry Campbell m. Annie Bell Kirkpatrick Thomas H. Campbell m. Nellie McClellan Jo Nell Campbell m. James S. Reynolds James W. "Jim" Reynolds I am currently President of the Barton Family Association, which is an organization of the family members of the Descendants of Isaac Barton. In 1988, we privately printed a two-volume book aptly entitled "The Descendants of Isaac Barton of Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland". While the book is out-of-print, we are considering having copies made. We also are considering an update or a new book. Unfortunately, we have not kept updating and are badly in need of updated family information along with the long lost relatives who simply are among those who are in the "No more information on this family" group. The Barton Family Association has an annual Reunion. The Reunion site alternates east and west of the Mississippi. The 2000 Reunion will be the weekend of June 23-25, 2000, in Colorado Springs. I am currently working on entering names into Family Tree Maker, which is quite a task since the "Barton Book", as we refer to it, is about 1,400 pages long. Queries are welcomed. Please be provide some family information, e.g., dates, any names you can provide, as the Barton Book is not well indexed. Jim Reynolds JReyno6299@aol.com

    2. I have a William Barton born ca 1735, probably VA without a family. He enlisted in the VA Militia at the age of 19 in King and Queen County. He later moved to Henry/Patrick Counties in VA and lived there until his death in 1809. He was married twice. The first time was probably to a Sharp. The sons from his first marriage were Thomas and Sharp. The second marriage was in Henry County to a Seppy Russell and there were many more children including a William, Jr. Thomas went on to Cumberland County, KY and Sharp went to Jackson County, Ohio. I don't know where William, Jr. made his home after his father's death. The Bartons left Patrick County after William, Sr.'s death. Mary Barton Bailey

    3. Hello all! I want to thank each and every one of you for subscribing to this Rootsweb genealogy list. It is time now for a brief word from our sponsor :) List guidelines: All Rootsweb lists cannot accept HTML or Rich Text (RTF) formatted email or attachments, please make sure all email is in plain text format before sending to the list. Please feel free to visit the surname resource pages at Rootsweb as well as our personal mailing list pages by going to http://www.rootsweb.com and clicking on Surname Resources for the Rootsweb page and to the Mailing list jump page at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cbrogan and selecting the list name for our personal mailing list pages. If you wish to respond to the entire list, you will need to replace the personal name in the to field with the list address, otherwise your response will only go to the person who sent the original message. If you have a problem with another list member, please do not post to the list but rather send email to the listowner and we will handle it off list. DO NOT forward Chain letters, off-topic posts, or virus alerts to the list. There are two sites listed below that deal with these hoaxes. Please check one of them and then email the listowner if you are still concerned. If there is cause for real alarm, he/she will address the list. http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html http://www.cheyenne.com/virusinfo/ DO NOT forward other people's mail, email or copyrighted information to the list at any time without specific permission of the author (and clearance from the listowner) This prevents "information stealing" and hurt feelings on the list. DO NOT attempt to sell, advertise or distribute products to the list members without prior authorization from the listowner. Doing so is cause for immediate removal from the list. If you have a genealogy book you have written that you wish to let people know about, please alert the listowner for further instructions. If you would like to read through the archives of this or any other list, please visit: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl OK... that's enough of the tough stuff. If anyone has issues with the above rules, please feel free to contact me via email and we can discuss it. If there are large "uprisings" about some of the rules, we will vote on action on the list, but it must first be discussed with the listowner off-list. While we're on the subject of sponsors though, if any of you would like to join in the support of our great host, Rootsweb, please become a sponsor or member by visiting: http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/members/ Again, thanks to all for making these lists what they are today! Now, back to GENEALOGY!!! Christi Calvert Brogan Proud Rootsweb Donor Visit our list pages at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cbrogan Visit our personal homepage at http://users.idworld.net/brogan
