    2. A cousin of mine directed me to a webpage with a wonderful 1839 DIARY written by Clinton Harrison MOORE. The descriptions that Mr. Moore gives about his journey from Tennessee to Texas are fabulous. I found the Diary especially interesting because when he finally settled around the Austin, Texas, area, he met a BARTON family and stayed there. This Diary really makes history come alive, and gives one an outstanding picture of the times of the early Texas Republic. It also lets one know what traveling was really like back then. 1. [BARTON-L] Need info on SHABA LIVERMAN and REUBEN REID. Also BARTON.
    2. I have just learned that my great great grandmother SHABA LIVERMAN died in Starville, Smith Co., TX. I do not know her death date, but she married REUBEN REID ca. 1927 in Jefferson Co., Alabama, and had her last child about 1847. I was hoping that someone reading this is acquainted with the Starville area, and the cemeteries there, or else, that someone has some Smith Co. cemetery books that could help me find out if there is a SHABA LIVERMAN REID or REUBEN REID buried in or around the Smith Co. area, especially around Starville. Shaba Liverman(Livermore) and Reuben Reid were the parents of my great grandmother, Mary Adline Reid, who married ELLIOTT MONROE BARTON of the Crim's Chapel community in Rusk Co. ,TEXAS. ELLIOTT MONROE BARTON was the son of J.BENJAMIN BARTON who was hanged by horse thieves in mid 1800s in Harrison Co.,Texas, during the Regulator Moderator War. If there are any BARTONS out there who have Barton info, or who want to share BARTON info, please contact me. Thank you, Caroleen Dorsey Williams, Henderson, Rusk Co., TEXAS

Go in on www.familysearch.com and you will find most of this. You have to go in on death/buriel because they are not shown on my sheet. Let me know if I can be of further help. 1. Re: [BARTON-L] Moses & Louisa J. Barton of South Carolina & Georgia

    3. Sarah Goosen directed my attention to you. I haven't been working on the Bartons lately so didn't see your query to the Barton List. I don't know if Sarah gave you the url to my Barton Quest web site, but if not, the Moses Barton section is listed at the following url: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Valley/5277/patrimoses.htm I would certainly love to include Louisa's children to the list or any other data you'd like added. Also, if you'd like your email adr. added to the Moses Barton cousins list, I'd be happy to oblige. I've researched southern Bartons for years and didn't realize that Louisa and her husband stayed in SC so long. I've looked from AL to TX for them. Do you suppose they could have gone on to AL with the rest, then moved back to SC before eventually going to GA? This is really fascinating...another clue to add to the pile. Do you have documentation proving Louisa was the daughter of Moses? Just curious. Every little bit helps. One of the old family trees listed Louisa as being born in TN. That's what I've got on the web page because it was the best information I had on her to date. Sarah probably told you that it's as certain as can be without proof that your Moses and our Willis were close relatives. Moses was probably the uncle of Willis, but that is just speculation on my part. By the way, do you know anything about Henry Tucker or Virginia Fowler's ancestry? I'm also descended from both Tuckers and Fowlers. Look forward to hearing from you. Debby Jennifer Payne wrote: > I'm looking for information on the parents/siblings/spouse of Abraham Barton c.1790 and his daughter Louisa J. Barton 1820-aft1892. They probably lived in the Anderson County, SC area, at least that is where Louisa and her husband John Sanders lived by the time of the 1850 census. Louisa and John later moved to Terrell Co, GA where they lived until they died. This is a vague query because I don't have much information, but any help would be appreciated. > > Thanks, Jennifer Payne > http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Pointe/3829/genealogy.html > > Their information is as follows: > Descendants of Moses Barton > > Generation No. 1 > > 1. Does anyone know what his middle name is or who he married? Did he serve in the Confederate Army. There was a Sergeant-Major William Barton who served in the 16th SC Infantry (Greenville) Regiment. A number of other Bartons also served in this unit. William's brothers Benjamin Franklin and David both died in the war. Any help with this man is appreciated. Thanks, Ronnie W. Bagwell

    3. I believe that this line is descended from Lewis BARTON of Baltimore County, MD. I do not have the lineage but am familiar with it because it appears with the line of Thomas BARTON of Baltimore County, MD. There is no known connection between these two lines, at this time. Both lines begin between 1670-1700. I once corresponded with a Diane Kincannon (hope my memory is correct on the last name) who was a descendant of Lewis. She was AOL a couple years ago. Wish I could be more help. I remember the name Aquil(l)a because it appears in my BARTON-CLARK line and is somewhat rare.
