I'm very new to geneology so I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be doing or where to look up information. I was hoping to be able to find more information online than I've been able to so far. I welcome all advice and suggestions. If anyone has any good ideas on how to find information online I'd really appreciate a hint or two. Also, how do I find out what kind of public records I need to look at? Or how do I find out if there are any geneology libraries or history centers in my area. I've seen the lists and lists of information that people accumulate and I'm just wondering how they're able to keep it all straight. Now, here is my family, as far back as it can go right now. great-grandfather Carl William Bartlett b. Sept. 7, 1902, d. April 17, 1982 McCracken Co., Paducah, KY m. Flora Wade b. Oct. 12, 1904 d. Oct. 10, 1987 Children: William Carl (my grandfather) b. April 7, 1928 m. Rosella Judy Bartlett Dowell Martha Bartlett (not sure of her married last name) Carl's silbings: Roley J. m. Velda Robertson June 16, 1973 Mabel Katherine Flora's mom: Ruby Wade b. 1886 d. Feb. 26, 1971 I'm not positive about all the dates but I believe that most of them are accurate. All of this is in Paducah, McCracken Co., KY. I need to talk to my grandfather to see what kind of information he can give me. Also, my great- uncle Roley is still living, so I need to speak with him also. Feel free to share this information with others, maybe it will be helpful to them.
