    1. Re: [BARTLETT-ROOTS-L] Fwd: About the Richard of N. Chat
    2. Hi All, I am one of the newbies. To let you know how new I am to all of this- I had to have help in order to subscribe. But I will make up the rest in enthusiasm. I am one of the Bartlett cousins. I have no idea what branch I am connected to. My gggrandfather is Daniel John Bartlett. He married Alvina Schermerhorn on July 4, 1861 in Walworth County, Wisconsin. The info on his Registration of Marriage reads Daniel J. Bartlett, Father's name: Lock A. Bartlett. Mother's name: Mariam Bartlett. Occupation: Farmer. Residence of husband: Hebron, Illinois. Birthplace of husband: New York State. Full name of wife: Alvina Schermerhorn. -ETC. on wife's side. They lived in McHenry Co., Illinois when to first married and then moved to Clinton, Wisconsin. Where they lived, farmed and raised a family. That is all I know about my Bartletts. But I am on a mission to find out all I can. I don't know much more, other than children's names. But I am very interested in Tim's e-mail. The possibility of Bartletts in Canada. Perhaps that is why I am reaching dead ends. I have been writing to a Bartlett cousin who is also very interested in her Bartlett genealogy. She sent me info from the 1870, Ridgebury, PA census: L.D. Bartlett (age 65); father foreign born; Marion not listed, but it says "wife" (age 65). Mariam (n) Bartlett (age 64) listed as living in the household of Norman (spelling hard to read) Allen (age 37) and his wife Harriett (age 28) maybe Marion's daughter? Phoebe (spelling hard to read) Bartlett (age 24) (listed as a head of household) and Lafayette (age 1). The next household is listed as Alonzo Bartlett (age 42), born in Canada. His wife Amelia (age 32); Lilla (age 2). I have no idea how to use GEDCOM. But I will try to learn. Thank you--Thank you--Thank you. For all that you are doing to preserve the Bartlett name. Because of you I am more determined then ever to stay focussed in my search. Keep up the good work-you are an inspiration. Donna
