My Bartlett connection is very early and just for one/two generations here in the US. Samuel Rider married Sarah Bartlett d/o Richard in 1656, in Plymouth, MA. Also Joseph Sylvester married in 1690, in Plymouth MA Hannah Bartlett d/o Joseph Bartlett, brother of Sarah, above In researching this line I have seen reference to "The Nellie Rider Papers" my source, Fremont Rider, describes 'The Papers' as "A genealogy of the Cape Cod branch of the Rider family from Samuel (1601) to about 1915. By Nellie Rider of Providence, RI. Handwritten manuscript in 3 loose leaf notebooks, deposited in the Library of the New England Historical & Genealogical Society." I have written to NEHGS and they tell me 'The Papers' are not part of their collection. I even wrote a second time after rechecking my information. The answer was still NO. Is anyone else descended thru Sarah and Sam? Has anyone used this collection? Does anyone know where it is? Could those of you in the East put it on your list of things to check next time you are at the libraries in your area? I hope that someone has used this manuscript or can help me locate it, it seem to cover a missing link in my documentation. Thank you, Bonnie Ryder Bliss San Jose, CA
