I don't have an answer to your question, but I do have a John Bartlet that married a Sarah Knight in 1660. Maybe we can make a difference connection. I am looking for my ancestors, Thomas Bartlett born in MA in 1805 who married Caroline Deering born in 1806 in Portland, ME. (or that area) They were married in Portland, ME on Dec 4. 1827. Thomas was living in Eastport, ME at the time and she was living in Portland, ME. They lived in Maine for a while, having six of their seven children there and then moved to Washington, D.C. in about 1846. Does this match any information your mother has?
