    1. [Barrett-Reuben-SC] DAR RESPONSE
    2. Keith Dowdy
    3. As I am now a full member of DAR, I have completed the application form for the DAR emblem for Reuben Barrett's headstone. Hopefully, the data regarding the burial site will be sufficient. There is another route we can take if the Historian General finds the data insufficient for proof. My suggestion is to "wait and see". Since he's already been proven by DAR for membership, they will probably accept what is documented in the applications.I've received the following responses from the SC DAR.--Marilyn 21 Jan 2003 Dear Mrs Dowdy, This is a fine project. I know our Greenville chapters will be glad to assist in any way they can. I am referring your letter to Mrs. Jo Ann Roberts Childers, the State Director of District I. She has direct contact with all the Greenville chapters, and can perhaps give you a referral to a chapter that meets in that area. She can also give you the names of the chapter regents of those chapters. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. We will certainly want to have a delegation of our South Carolina Daughters there for the marking. Most sincerely, Henrietta R. Morton, Regent SC State Society, SCDAR cc/ Jo Ann R. Childers Thank you for the Email. I look forward to attending the grave marking in May 25th. At the moment, I am the regent of the Nathanael Greene Chapter in Greenville, SC. At the State Conference in March, I will be voted to District One Director, taking my duties at the May luncheon (I think.) Please keep me posted with definite day, time, place, directions. Thank you, Elizabeth S. Sutton
