Susan,My grandfather, Miles Barrett, was a bropther to Richard. Miles' daughter,Olly (Ollie) was my grasndmother. She married John Huygh Mayes,Sr. Their son, Jihn,Jr. was my father and I am an only child. My mother & father divorced when I was about 5 0r 6 years old. My dad cut off all communication with my mojm or me. Why??? I'll never know, I was just an innocent by-stander. I did my best to get my dad ,even after I married and had chilkdren,to let us come for a visit but to no avail. His second wife forbid him to have anything to do with me.It has really been a heartache to bear. I wanted for him to get to know his grandchildren and me just a little better.He raised six children of his second wife, none were his.He died Aug.24,1998 and my mom, Maxine Louise Vernon died May 13,1999. So, I never had a family so to speak.Grandmother & grandada were the only good memories I have.So, that's my life in a nutshell. Glad to meet a New Cousin. As ever, Gaye
