Steven, Some of these are my family. John H. (Hugh) Mayes, Sr. b.Feb.15,1885-d.Aug. 5,1952 and Ollie B. Mayes b.June 25,1884-d.Aug.7,1965 ARE my grandparents. Barney H. (Hutchins) Mayes b. Mar.1,1891- d. Nov.30,1980 and Josephine C. Mayes b. Feb.21,1893-d.May 27,1977 were my grandfathers' brother and his wife. I don't know the other Mayes folks. Aunt Francis Louise Barrett Grandmother's sister and mother of Alcon McLain Barfiels, Muriel Dalton Lott and Theranell Dalton(buried at Poplar Grove Cemetery) and her third husband, George Henry Dalton are at rest here at Hasley. My maternal grandparents, William Andia Vernon and Minnie Emma Stovall as well as my mother's sister, Myrtle Celeste Vernon (Unmarried) and her brother-in-law, Patrick Harold Williams (the husband of Thelma Ione (Vernon)Barkley and my mother, Maxine (Vernon)Roane and her only brother, Andia Stovall Vernon are buried here,too.If you want more data pon this family, I'll share what I know.
