Hello All, I received a letter from Susan Jakes at the Tyger Church and need to write her back. I need to let her know if we need to use their Associate Pastor to do the Service when we are there. I just wanted to make sure that there is no one who is going to attend that wants to do the service, since Dina McBride and her family can't attend now. Here is a section out of her letter: We will be most happy for you to address the congregation and your family, and also invite you to incorporate any special singers, presentations, introductions, etc., that you may have. It is our desire to allow you complete freedom with the service to better aid your family in their celebration. I look forward to hearing from you, Susan Darnell Also do we want to have the Memorial service inside the sanctuary after the Sunday service and lunch and then go to the cemetery since there may be an estimated 30 families attending. Or have it at the cemetery? Here is what I think but if anyone has any other ideas I am always open to them... Attend the Sunday Service then go to the Fellowship hall for lunch, then back to the Sanctuary for the Memorial Service and then to the cemetery to unveil the Marker and say a few words. The reason is the ground may be soft or muddy, we have some people attending who are in Wheelchairs and others that it will be hard to stand for a long period of time. We have a few who are in their 80's. I just want it to be as easy as possible on them too. We have a gentleman who will be singing a song during the Memorial Service. It would be nice to have a representative from each family line to say a few words at the Memorial Service and we can have more than one song if we have anyone out there who would like to do it. If any of you can do this please let me know so I can coordinate the Memorial Service. I also need to hear from everyone who is attending and how many they plan to bring so I can get a rough estimate. Thanks and hugs, Janet
I think we should use their Associate Pastor. Let's disrupt their normal service as little as possible. I agree that we should have the Sanctuary available. I don't know if Jeff will prefer to sing inside or out. If it is raining, we'll want to be inside.
