In 1860 census for Itawamba County,Ms it doesn't show the color of the individual. If there is a check mark does that mean white,black or mulatta? Does any one know? There is a Samuel W. Barrett age 52 SC (wagon maker),Eliza C age 48 SC, Joseph W. age 7 MS, Harriett B. age 5 MS, David M. Coker 22 ALA,Martha J. 22 MS,Sarah A. Beene 15 Ms. But Saml and Eliza have check marks. Thanks Deb
