You know I asked my Meme what she remembers about the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Her answer was, "Not much. We lived in the country and there was no radio. The closest neighbor was miles away, so it took a few days to find out." Then I asked her about other wars in her lifetime b/c there are many. Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf War, and now Iraq or Operation Freedom. She remembers those. I did not know for those that are taking these "Memories" down if they would be interested in those kind of memories too. The Men and Women that served or that can remember WWII or dying at about ( I believe the statistics are) 1,000 per day. That is alot. I know the older generation can tell us more about WWII, Korea, etc...than any text book. They lived through or where born during the Great Depression. As my Meme says,"What was so great about it I have no idea." So maybe we can find out about what else they know or are willing to share. This is just a thought I had. I have many sometimes I just forget to share. LOL! I hope this did not sound like I was mad or anything b/c I am not. Just sentimental. I have only 1 grandparent left out of 4. So I think for my personal use b/c she is not a Barrett or a McCan (She is from my mom's side) I will ask her for more memories. Some are good and some are bad. Just depends on which ones you ask about. LOL! Well I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am trying to clean for a baby shower for a real good friend of mine. I will ask for those of you who pray please pray for our friends.(Pat and Angela) They do not have a clus about babies. While y'all are praying if you do not mind praying for me and Zac we are trying to get pregnant and we have a few obstacles to go through. Lots of love and affection. Maybe being only one and a half has something to do with it. I do remember my dad talking about how they found out. We were at my mother's parents near Tolar in Hood Co., TX. After lunch on Sunday my dad went out to the car to find out football scores. I assume these were the college scores from the night before. Of course the only thing he heard was information about the bombing. We plan to visit Jan's mother next weekend. If we do Jan will ask her what she remembers.
