HI, All-- Just thought I'd make a report on Mitch Vetuski, our elusive Texas cousin who worked with me so closely on Barrett research for so many years--well actually, he's much closer kin to Janet than to me. I tried sending him two e-mails recently, but they came back; the last e-mail I got from him was probably six or eight months ago. And no one having heard from him for a long time, I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and chase him down. I knew that he was building his own home (physically, brick by brick) somewhere near Wimberly after having retired from the Houston fire department. Through Anywho.com, I found two of his daughters; I called the one living in Austin, and she gave me his phone number near Wimberly, actually closer to San Marcos. Mitch is STILL building that house! His computer is stored at his son's house, and he is still working daily on his house and doing no research at all. He said that he finally finished installing his kitchen cabinets yesterday. He and Penny have been living in the house for several months without a kitchen. He said they both like their new home and especially like the dryer climate of the Hill Country. Mitch still has a great handle on all the families we used to work on together. He will get back to working in the family history as soon as he has more of the house completed. He said he will probably take a job of some sort once he is finished building the house, but should have time to join us at that time. He knew about the S. C. reunion, and kept up with what was happening with Barretts until they moved out of their apartment and into the new house. Just thought you'd like to know. Karen
