We're just back from the dedication and I'm sorry all of you could not be there. It was a very moving time while remembering all Reuben and other did for all of us; as our present day soldiers are doing. Now I know why I love genealogy so much! I don't really know who all had a hand in bringing this about, but many thanks from Gerald and myself to each one who had a part. The day was great; a bit warm, but the sun went in part of the time. There was a Color Guard from Furman, members of the local chapter of DAR and a SAR representative. The plaque looks "at home" on the front of the stone and the program was just the right length. We all later went into the church Fellowship Hall for refreshments and I don't think I've ever tasted any better lemonade! My husband was astonished at the resemblance of some attendee to his own siblings and was on the phone to his sister immediately upon our return telling her about it all! What a wonderful tribute from descendants almost 200 years later! GOD IS GOOD! Gerald and Jo Barrett
