    3. I agree with Jo, I wish more of you could have shared the dedication service with and the experience of sharing with Susan and Jake. Tiger Baptist out did themselves again. This old man is tired so you'll have to wait for additional detail. After the dedication Jan and I met with Hollie and Larry (who are in the same motel we are in) and Marilyn and her family for diner. After diner Hallie and Larry came to our room and we continued to visit and looked at Mason Co., TX cemetery pictures that they took for me in April. The clock just struck MIDNIGHT and I'm turning into a pumpkin! I couldn't tell you the last time I was up this late. More later. But first, I must said that Marilyn dad a wonderful job of putting together the program. It was a very moving time while remembering all Reuben and other did for all of us; as our present day soldiers are doing. Now I know why I love genealogy so much! I don't really know who all had a hand in bringing this about, but many thanks from Gerald and myself to each one who had a part. The day was great; a bit warm, but the sun went in part of the time. There was a Color Guard from Furman, members of the local chapter of DAR and a SAR representative. The plaque looks "at home" on the front of the stone and the program was just the right length. We all later went into the church Fellowship Hall for refreshments and I don't think I've ever tasted any better lemonade! My husband was astonished at the resemblance of some attendee to his own siblings and was on the phone to his sister immediately upon our return telling her about it all! What a wonderful tribute from descendants almost 200 years later! GOD IS GOOD!
