Has anyone ever found a Talmadge Quitman Barrett (or Quitman Talmadge), born about 1910-1920 apx.? I would like to know where he fits into our Barretts. His son called my brother and asked him if he knew. The call was based on similarity of names as the caller, Gary Lynn Barrett, telephoned Gary Leon Barrett. Turns out they are the same age, 57 yrs. We are remodeling, yes construction!!! So my genealogy is put away for awhile and my search on Ancestry.com did not reveal anything new on these names. Any answers would be appreciated! Thank you. Last week I learned that the grandmother of an acquaintance of mine was Myrtle Effie Barrett. She was born in 1890 in Madison, MS Her father, Bennie Clinton Barrett, was born Sep 1850 in Attala Co., MS He was married 1st to Mollie A. Yaggar. A known son of Bennie and Mollie was Reuben Thomas Barrett born 1875 in Attala Co., MS He married 2nd Elizabeth Self. Bennie and Elizabeth are the parents of Myrtle Effie Barrett. They also had other children. Does anyone have any knowledge of this group of Barretts? I am wondering if they are related as they lived in the same counties as our Mississippi Barretts. Sheryn, I have some information on Quitman, I wasn't sure if anyone had answered you on this. His parents were Jesse George Barrett and Sally Parelee Austin, He was born 8/23/1928 Prentiss,Ms and died 4/10/1988.
